Behavioral Therapist: A Career With Purpose (No Degree Required)

Imagine walking into work each day knowing you’ll help a child say their first words, make their first friend, or master a skill they’ve been working on for weeks. That’s the reality for our Behavioral Therapists.

Unlike typical entry-level positions, becoming a Behavioral Therapist at Flywheel Centers requires no previous experience or degree – just a genuine love for working with children and the desire to make a difference. We’ll provide all the training you need to succeed.

Starting at $18-22 per hour – significantly more than you’d earn at most retail or service jobs – you’ll enjoy flexible scheduling that works around your college classes or other commitments. More importantly, you’ll develop professional skills that will serve you throughout your career.

A Day That Makes a Difference

When you join our team as a Behavioral Therapist, no two days are exactly alike. You might start your morning helping a four-year-old practice conversation skills through play, then work with a six-year-old on developing social skills during group activities.

You’ll work one-on-one with children, implementing personalized therapy plans created by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Through engaging, play-based activities, you’ll help children develop communication skills, build social connections, and gain independence.

Throughout the day, you’ll document progress, collaborate with team members, and share successes with parents. The smile on a child’s face when they master a new skill – that moment when a parent tears up because their child said “I love you” for the first time – these are the rewards that make this work so meaningful.

Learning and Growing Together

When you join Flywheel, you’re never alone. Each new Behavioral Therapist is paired with an experienced mentor who provides guidance and support. Our comprehensive paid training program ensures you have all the tools and knowledge you need to succeed.

Your professional journey begins with orientation, where you’ll learn about autism and the principles of ABA therapy. You’ll then move to hands-on training and shadowing experienced staff before leading your own sessions. Throughout your career with us, you’ll receive ongoing supervision, feedback, and continuing education opportunities.

Many of our clinical leaders started exactly where you are now – as Behavioral Therapists without prior experience. With dedication and passion, you can build a career path that might lead to becoming a Senior Therapist, pursuing certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), or even advancing to a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with further education.
